Languages Other Than English (LOTE)
St Luke's offers the study of another language. This may vary depending on teacher availability. Students learn a Language Other Than English in Year 7 and it is offered as an elective subject in Year 8.
Studying another language promotes understanding and tolerance, broadening students' opportunities to travel and work in the wider world.
Throughout the course, students will engage in both written and spoken tasks. They learn to write the language and enjoy practicing conversational speech. An integral part of the course is being exposed to the culture of the people, including aspects such as food and traditions.
