Celebrating NAIDOC Week at St Luke's College

This week, our College community proudly celebrated NAIDOC Week , taking time to recognise and honour the rich histories, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Throughout the first week of Term 3, students were invited to participate in a variety of activities that celebrated Indigenous culture and encouraged learning, reflection and appreciation. These experiences provided valuable opportunities for students to deepen their understanding of Australia's First Nations peoples and the importance of culture, connection and respect.

Our celebrations culminated on Friday, when students proudly wore Indigenous-themed shirts to school as a visible show of support and recognition. The day also featured a special community lunch, bringing students and staff together to celebrate the spirit of NAIDOC Week in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

NAIDOC Week is an important opportunity to acknowledge the enduring strength, resilience and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As a College community, we are grateful for the chance to learn from and celebrate the world's oldest continuing cultures while continuing to foster respect, understanding and reconciliation.
