Peer Support Program Builds Connections in Year 7
A lively and engaging morning unfolded during extended PCG today, as Year 7 students took part in a series of Peer Support activities designed to strengthen friendships and build confidence.
Led by Mr Woods and the school's dedicated Peer Support Mentors, the session featured a range of interactive activities aimed at helping students connect, communicate and feel supported as they continue their transition into secondary school. Despite the scale of organising a full cohort event, the morning ran smoothly, with students enthusiastically participating from start to finish.
The Year 7 cohort was fully engaged throughout the session, embracing each activity with energy and positivity. Smiles were plentiful as students collaborated, shared ideas and stepped outside their comfort zones in a welcoming and encouraging environment.
The success of the event is a testament to the hard work and leadership of the Peer Support student leaders, who demonstrated maturity and initiative in guiding the younger students. Mr Woods' organisation and support ensured the morning was both purposeful and enjoyable.
Programs like Peer Support play an important role in fostering a sense of belonging within the school community, and today's activities were a clear example of the positive impact student leadership can have.
