Junior Awards Assembly Celebrates Achievement, Spirit and Service Across Years 7–10

The end-of-year Junior Awards Assembly was a fantastic celebration of the achievements of our Years 7–10 students, recognising excellence across academics, leadership, service, arts, and sport. This year's assembly also highlighted House spirit, Christian Service-Learning, and culminated in the announcement of the 2025 Champion House.

Academic Excellence Awards were proudly presented to our top achievers in each year level:

  • Year 7 Dux: Chloe Pecanek | Proxime: Ben Thompson

  • Year 8 Dux: Kristine Faith Wren | Proxime: Grace Johannsen

  • Year 9 Dux: Christal Evangelista | Proxime: Tahlia Nunn

  • Year 10 Dux: Ben Cragan | Proxime: Quaid Creado-Williams

In addition to academic excellence, the assembly recognised students who have shown exceptional dedication and character:

  • Junior Citizenship Award: Simba Watadza

  • Junior Spirit of Youth Award: Natalie Buzzard

  • Christian Leadership Award: Quaid Creado-Williams

  • Junior Arts and Cultural Award: Mia Campbell

  • Junior Sports Person Award: Aaliyah Walsh

All of these awards were generously sponsored by Command I.T.

Special Awards recognising outstanding initiative, service, and achievement included:

  • S.T.A.R. Award: Max Grasso, sponsored by The Honourable Melissa Price MP, Federal Member for Durack

  • ADF Long Tan Award: Indiana Lucev, sponsored by the Australian Defence Force

  • ADF Future Innovators Award: Gorjan Saltamarski, sponsored by the Australian Defence Force

  • Joy of Achievement Award: Xaiver Coelho, sponsored by the Karratha Autumn Club

The St Luke's School Band then performed a lively rendition of "All the Small Things" by Blink-182, adding energy and excitement to the assembly.

Junior House Spirit Awards, sponsored by Command I.T., celebrated students who demonstrated enthusiasm, teamwork, and pride within their House throughout 2025:

  • Nickol House: Chloe Varvell

  • Fortescue House: Siona Dale

  • Harding House: Kella De Koker

  • Maitland House: Annalise Ridley

Following the House Spirit Awards, Ms Tittums presented the Christian Service Program, acknowledging students' commitment to service with badges awarded according to hours completed:

  • Bronze Badge: 20 hours

  • Silver Badge: 50 hours

  • Gold Badge: 80 hours

  • Platinum Badge: 100 hours

  • Isabella Flahavin – 59 hours (Bronze & Silver)

  • Savannah Varvell – 34 hours (Bronze)

  • Hope Johannsen – 34 hours (Bronze)

  • Ben Thompson – 32 hours (Bronze)

  • Harper Harradine – 31 hours (Bronze)

  • Kimberley Varvell – 30 hours (Bronze)

  • Sunny Dyer – 24 hours (Bronze)

Year 8

Year 9

Finally, the most exciting moment of the assembly was the announcement of the 2025 Champion House:

  • 4th Place – Nickol House: 10,030 points

  • 3rd Place – Maitland House: 11,029 points

  • 2nd Place – Harding House: 11,352 points

  • 1st Place – Fortescue House: 12,402 points

The Junior Awards Assembly was a proud celebration of achievement, character, and community spirit among our Years 7–10 students. We also extend our sincere thanks to all the sponsors whose support helped make this event possible and allowed us to recognise the outstanding accomplishments of our junior students.
