Book Week 2025 | Book an Adventure
Last week our school joined the national celebration of Book Week 2025, embracing this year's theme "Book an Adventure." The week was filled with exciting activities designed to spark creativity, celebrate reading, and bring stories to life for both staff and students.
The celebrations began on Monday, with the incredible Write a Book in a Day challenge. Registered students worked together to write and illustrate a complete picture book within just 12 hours, all while raising money for childhood cancer research.
On Tuesday, students put their problem-solving skills to the test with a book-themed escape room and a round of Kahoot trivia, while Wednesday saw PCG groups battle it out in a fast-paced book quiz.
By Thursday, the spotlight turned to student creativity, with a pop-up library showcasing the books written on Monday. These were proudly displayed and enjoyed by students during recess and lunch.
The week ended with a bang on Friday, with our much-loved Book Week Parade held at lunchtime on the oval. Staff and students came dressed as their favourite book characters, filling the school with colour, laughter, and imagination. Even our principal, Mr Correia, joined in the fun — making a heroic appearance as Batman! Costumes ranged from classic storybook heroes to creative takes on this year's theme, and the parade highlighted just how much joy books can bring to a community.
Throughout the week, students also had the chance to take part in our Book Week Competition by submitting photos of themselves reading with their pets. The most creative entry was awarded a special book-related prize.
Book Week 2025 was a true celebration of storytelling, imagination, and the love of reading. A huge thank you goes to all students and staff, who participated and supported the events — you helped make this year's theme, Book an Adventure, a reality!
