The Year 7 students at St Luke's participated in an enriching and engaging Pastoral Day designed to help them settle into high school life and build lasting connections with their peers. The event, held in Week 4 of Term 1, provided a great opportunity for the newest members of the school community to bond while learning valuable skills to navigate the challenges of adolescence.
Throughout the day, students participated in a series of house activities that encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and positive interaction. These activities were not only fun, but also helped students better understand how to approach both academic and social challenges that may arise during their high school years.
The Pastoral Day also featured a visit to the Karratha Leisureplex, where the students enjoyed a refreshing swim. Whilst completing swim trails for the swimming carnival coming up, it was also the perfect opportunity to unwind, enjoy the company of new friends, and celebrate the end of a busy day of learning and fun.
"We're thrilled to see how well our Year 7 students are engaging with one another and embracing the school's values," said Mr Beins, Year 7 Coordinator. "This event was about creating a supportive environment where students can build meaningful relationships while learning important life skills."
The event has been described as a great success, with students leaving the day feeling more confident, connected, and excited for the year ahead.
As the school year continues, St Luke's is committed to providing students with opportunities to grow not only academically, but personally and socially as well.
