St Luke's College acknowledged NAIDOC Week and celebrated it from Tuesday 16th July to Friday 19th July.
The week started and ended with a sausage sizzle of kangaroo and beef sausages for all staff and students to enjoy. On Friday students shared cake that was made by Mrs Botha.
A group of our Polly Farmer students went to St Paul's to help them with their NAIDOC activities on Friday.
We were fortunate to have several community members come into the school including:
-Torres Strait Island elder Sarai Cedar-sharing her cultural knowledge, music and hands on activities
- Murujuga Rangers-talking to year 10's
-Karla Lockyer and her family who cooked the kangaroo tail stew and damper for us all to share -the damper was a hit and went really quickly. Natasha Leslie also helped on Friday
Thanks to all the staff who worked hard to promote NAIDOC and a special thanks to all those students who helped, and an extra special mention to Hugh Carton-Woodward & Jeanine Matanguihan for coming in on Friday to help with all things NAIDOC including cooking all the sausages.
