Wellbeing Week: Nurturing Minds and Bodies for a Healthier Tomorrow
In a collaborative effort to foster awareness of mental health and wellbeing, our school recently participate in a highly successful Wellbeing Week. The event, which has become a staple of our school calendar, aimed to promote a holistic approach to wellness among our students.
This year's Wellbeing Week was marked by a diverse range of activities and discussions designed to encourage students to prioritise their mental health and overall wellbeing. From the serene practice of yoga to the invigorating intensity of body pump, students were provided with a variety of options to cater to their individual preferences.
One of the highlights of the week was the opportunity for students to explore their creative sides through art therapy. The soothing and therapeutic effects of artistic expression were profound as students immersed themselves in the world of creative storytelling run by Dr. Paul Armishaw from Reminda.
Physical fitness was not forgotten in the quest for overall wellness. Activities such as yoga, stretching, body pump, Zumba, and dodgeball encouraged students to embrace an active lifestyle and experience the undeniable benefits of regular exercise.
On the much-anticipated "R U OK Day," the atmosphere was filled with music and the aroma of freshly cooked pancakes. This was not just a day of delicious treats but also a crucial platform for open discussions about mental health, fostering a supportive environment where students felt comfortable asking the important question: "Are you okay?"
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the outside agencies that played an instrumental role in facilitating various activities during Wellbeing Week. Organisations such Girls FX, Headspace, and Community Health were pivotal in providing resources, expertise, and guidance that enriched the experience for our students.
Wellbeing Week has undeniably left a positive impact on our school community. By emphasising the importance of mental health and offering diverse activities to cater to different interests, we hope to instill in our students the lifelong value of prioritising their wellbeing.
