Men's Mental Health Breakfast
On Wednesday 24th May, the Student Executive hosted the 'Men's Mental Health' event in the PAC. After a successful International Women's Day event in Term 1, this event was aimed specifically towards our male students and promoting discussion around a cause held of high importance for the Student Executive team.
Students were accompanied by a significant male in their life to share a BBQ breakfast whilst prompted to walk around the room observing and discussing some men's mental health statistics and brainstorming some ideas about influential people in their life.
Liam Sorrell from local business Grit & Gratitude and founder of Australian Dad's Network then gave a short presentation to the crowd about his personal mental health journey and the importance of discussing mental health and promoting connection between people. Liam expressed pride and gratitude to the Student Executive for valuing mental health and organising such a successful event.
Students and their guests then moved to the gym for some three-legged races which provided many laughs amongst the crowd. Gold coin donations of $61.00, raised from the breakfast is to be donated to the Australian Dad's Network. Miss Braund and the Student Exec thank everyone who helped out and attended this event.
