Have ∑ Fun Competition

2023 Mathematic Champions!

Friday the 17^th of March saw our top ranked Mathematics students in year 7 and 8 at St Luke's College head over to Karratha Senior High School for the annual MAWA Have ∑ Fun competition.

The atmosphere in the room as the students prepared for the start of the competition was palpable as they were keen to get started in order to defend their title as champions. The competition was fierce this year with not only challenging questions, but strong competition from the KSHS students. As the competition progressed our students found their stride. Great team work and lots of laughs were to be heard throughout the day.

St Luke's College would like to thank Karratha Senior High School for organising the competition and hosting us once more.

I am happy to report the SLC have successfully defended their title as the 2023 MAWA Have ∑ Fun competition champions. First place went to Cameron Buzzard, Aditya Shelke, Ben Cragen, Tahlia Nunn, Jack Cawthray and Olivia Byrne. Third place went to Christian Hadley, Zavian Zimmerle, Riley Middleton, Abeeha Zaidi, Shalom Sarucha and Kaylee Muscat with Jake Saunderson and Shruti Murugan filling in for Kaylee when she went home unwell.

Congratulations not only to all students who placed, but to all students who took part. You represented the College amazingly well maintaining our PBL standards throughout the day. You and your families are an asset to our school.
