International Women's Day Breakfast
For their first event of 2023, the Student Executive hosted the International Women's Day Breakfast & discussion panel. Emer O'Brien spearheaded the event; inviting a range of successful women from our local community to come and chat with our young women about how they found success in their life choices.
The Student Exec put on a delicious breakfast of ham cheese croissants and pancakes for female teachers, students and parents to enjoy beforehand; with discussion questions relating to success posted around the room as conversation starters.
The panellists were asked to share about their journey to success, the challenges they faced along the way and how success looks different to everybody. Students from Years 7-12 attended and were highly engaged and captivated by what the panellists had to say.
A huge thank you to Gillian Furlong, Tamara Goes, Petrina Sladen, Susan Grylls, Laura Bascombe, Tylah Day-Ruston, Virginia Miltrup, Katrina OBenza, and Simone Fountain for coming along and sharing their stories.
This is the first event of this kind, led and organised by student executives. The feedback from all involved in the days events has been positive along with much enthusiasm for the potential growth of future events.
