2022 Senior Ball
On Saturday, 12 February 2022 our senior students attended the St Luke's College ball. This year the theme was "Greek Mythology". The ballroom was decorated with glowing clouds hanging from above, Greek columns surrounding the room and Greek head statues as table centrepieces, all covered in plenty of twisting vines and twinkling fairy lights.
Due to restrictions, walk-ins looked slightly different this year. Unfortunately, no parents or other community members were able to attend the walk-ins, however, the live streaming to the College Facebook page gave everyone the opportunity to watch the students walk down the red carpet. Parents, grandparents, siblings and friends were able to tune in from all over the world.
A delicious dinner was served by Souv-Lucky food van, with Greek souvlaki platters, Greek donuts and cupcakes for dessert to keep in line with the theme. The students danced the night away to the uplifting beats of DJ Karl.
Beautiful sashes, provided by Jaimee Harris from North West Trophies and Engraving, were awarded to the following students:
- King of the ball (Zeus) Josh Vernon
- Queen of the ball (Hera) Jess Tunstead
- Prince of the ball (Troi) Zane Goes
- Princess of the ball (Aphrodite) Lily Carrigg
- Best Couple (Hercules & Megara) Jake Levey and Layla Jones
- Best male dancer (Apollo) Sam Ninaus
- Best female dancer (Euterpe) Lily Bertolini
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the evening a success, especially:
- Our amazing ball committee who put in many hours over the holidays, early mornings, and lunch times, planning and constructing the decorations.
- DJ Karl for creating an atmosphere that kept the dance floor full all night.
- Souv-Lucky for feeding us the delicious Greek food platters.
- Pip Arthur for being our wonderful photographer and capturing the beautiful memories.
- Jaimee Harris for the beautiful sashes.
- The Year 10 helpers who gave up their Saturday night to serve food and drinks.
- Messrs Dale, Avard, Gaylard and Subramoney for ushering the students down the red carpet in their stunning Greek god costumes.
- All the staff and students who stayed back on Friday night to help set up for the ball, and all the staff who stayed back on Saturday night to clean up after the ball.
- Mrs Otway for making sure the ball could still go ahead when Covid restrictions caused uncertainty.
The combined efforts of all involved made the night one to remember.
