Math-O-Mania
The enthusiasm and competitive spirit for the 2022 Math-0-Mania competition was as apparent as ever.
On Saturday, 27 August over 40 students gathered at St Luke's to test out their problem-solving skills.
There were ten teams competing in the team events, fighting robots and the great race. The individual events included an enrichment Mathematics paper and a card game called German Whist.
Results:
- Our overall winner for the day was Ben Cragan (Year 7) and Runner up Cam Buzzard (Year 7).
- Year 7: 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were Sofia Barker-Ruiz, Elina Trost and Aishleen Kaur respectively
- Year 8: 1st place was Aarnav Virkar, 2nd was a 4-way draw between Ailey Peacock, William Holmes, Toby Nunn and Leiani Fenner
- Year 9: 1st, 2nd and 3rd places went to Brian Nguyen, Cale Buzzard and Cailen Chandler respectively
It was a fun day full of activity.
Thank you to all the students that attended and a special thanks for the Mathematics staff who created the activities and gave up their Saturday to ensure a smooth day.
