House structure

The Role of the House Coordinator is to ensure the welfare and academic progress of each student in the faction.

The House Coordinator works closely with the Vice-Principal and the Pastoral Care Group teachers to ensure the total care of each individual student.

The College has four Houses named after the local rivers in the region: Fortescue, Harding, Maitland and Nickol.

Students compete during the year for the prestigious House Shield which is based on sport results and merit certificates. Students also enjoy the Inter House Swimming and Athletics carnivals. These competitions always generate a fine team spirit.

Recent Fun House Events!

On the last day of term 1, 2012 the students had a great day competing against each other in a fun House Day. We had three events running concurrently; the challenging obstacle course where students had to work together as a team climbing ropes; crawling under army nets and the final event, making their way through a pool of slime and water and running the gauntlet dodging water balloons!

The water challenge started with lots of bubbles and water to create a slippery surface where students had to rummage through slime and sludge to make hoops. The student had to find Easter eggs in shaving cream and then have team races through water pistols and water bombs!

The final challenge was the 'Amazing Race' where students ate Lychees, had to find answers to challenging questions and the participate in the domino challenge!

All in all, it was a great day where staff and students all had fun interacting and letting their hair down. Remarkably at the end of the events all teams ended up scoring 40 points for each house which was a great result for all!
